How many outside managers do you think there are in county football and hurling throughout the country?
Well, let me put you out of your misery straight away, because there are precisely sixteen in football and fifteen in hurling!
Surprised? Well you shouldn't be, because it's for that very reason that Christy Cooney stated at the recent AllStars trip to Buenos Aires that they should review the whole question of outside managers.
The GAA president was speaking informally at a press briefing and said that they should 'maybe look at putting a motion before Congress to say to clubs and counties that they would have to appoint managers from within their own clubs and counties and that you couldn't go outside of that'.
