DESPITE being only two years of age, the wee woman has a better social life than me - and that's official!
There I was on Friday evening, with a week of work drawing to a close, thinking how wonderful it would be to have two days of taking it easy and enjoying some time lounging around the house.
No such luck, I'm afraid, as it suddenly dawned on me that our darling daughter had such a hectic schedule ahead of her that even the most party-savvy IT girl would be jealous.
Not one but two birthday parties were to be attended over the weekend, along with a visit to the Barney and Friends show that was on locally.
Thankfully, because I had a much needed appointment with the hairdresser, the job of taking the wee woman and her favourite cousin to the Barney extravaganza fell to the hubby - much to his unbridled delight.
And, despite the fact that Barney's head fell off during one particularly lively routine, the wee woman had the time of her life and, according to the hubby, resembled something out of the front row of a Daniel O'Donnell concert!
So hectic was the little diva's schedule over the last few days that, no sooner had she left the colourful world of Barney and Friends behind her, than it was off for a quick costume check and a light lunch, before making our way to the first of two parties.
Packed with lively boys and girls, and crammed with delicious party food, this particular occasion proved to be a huge hit with the wee woman and, no sooner had she settled into her car seat as we made our way home again, than she was fast asleep.
On Sunday, it was time for Party Number Two and, in true A-list celebrity style, the outfit was worn to perfection and the smiles were out for the cameras.
Again, after indulging in her fair share of party food, with a tantrum or two thrown in for good measure, the wee woman fell fast asleep as soon as she climbed into her waiting car.
Thankfully for the three of us, two long, leisurely weeks of holidays now stretch ahead and, with a two year-old and a burgeoning baby bump to look after, relaxation will be the key for the hubby and I - fingers crossed!
