AN ARDBOE woman was in "financial difficulties" when she decided to use a tax disc which did not relate to her own car, according to her solicitor.
Maxine Campbell, 30, from Killycanavan Road, appeared before East Tyrone Magistrates Court to plead guilty to the offence of fraudulently using the disc and to an additional charge of driving without insurance.
The matters came to light when Campbell was stopped at Killyman Road, Dungannon, on September 25 last year.
Patrick Mallon, Campbell's solicitor, said his client had been made redundant and was in financial difficulties around the time of the incident.
Mr Mallon said Campbell had "foolishly and stupidly" taken the risk of using a tax disc which related to another vehicle.
Campbell was fined a total of £300 and received six penalty points.
