Copies of the DVD will be distributed free of charge at the event to all participants and within community, schools, churches, groups and organisations and workplaces.
Hard-hittingDuring the launch event, the Council's Anti Racism Officer, Ligia Parizzi gave an overview of the past six months of the Independent Reporting Scheme which has been in operation for almost a year. She said:
"The latest 6 Months Report (December07 / May08) is the most updated source of statistics, key issues reported, interventions and recommendations based on the reports submitted in the last 6 months and copies of the Report will be distributed to all participants at today's event.
"I am particularly pleased with the DVD, which gives a very hard hitting overview of a few real life incidents reported to the scheme as well as informing viewers how to report a racist incident."
Mayor Councillor Barry Monteith said:
"Dungannon continues to lead the way to highlight anti racism. This event, with its specialist perspectives using multi media, further emphasises the Council's stance on tackling racism."
To obtain a copy of the DVD, please contact Ligia Parizzi at Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council on 028 8772 8603.
