A DUNGANNON mother has bravely chosen to warn other parents to be vigilant when their child is playing outdoors, after her young son was involved in an apparent attempted kidnap.
The three year-old was happily playing with friends outside his home - closely watched by his mother - when a man on a bicycle picked him up and cycled away from the property.
When the toddler's mother saw what had happened, she rushed outside and called after the man, who put the youngster down and cycled off.
One man was subsequently arrested and questioned in connection with an allegation of attempted abduction.
Local PSNI Inspector, Stephen Moneypenny, said the matter was still under investigation and the man had been released on "very stringent bail conditions".
Although the worried mum does not wish her identity to be made public, she wishes to clarify a report in last week's Tyrone Times which stated that the incident occurred at 9.20pm on Saturday, June 13.
