Sweethearts Enda Coary and Emma Kingham declared their devoted love for each other on Thursday knowing their days together would be special but few.
Critically ill Enda, aged just 30, died a few days later on Sunday at the Marie Curie Hospice, Belfast, surrounded by family and loved ones.
For months Enda had courageously battled against cancer whilst finishing his law apprenticeship.
Enda's undiminished spirit shone right through to the end, receiving his law degree in a special ceremony organised by the Law Society.
In a moving tribute, his sister Amanda spoke of her family's great pride for Enda and his achievements, and described him as 'a very modest fellow'.
His wife Emma is said to be heart-broken.
The marriage ceremony was performed by Fr Peter McAnenely, who described it as 'very moving'.
On Thursday the President of the Law Society conferred the qualification of LLB onto Enda, who had spent seven years training at Aidan Quinn's legal firm on Thomas Street, Dungannon.
The Killybrackey man also worked at the Fort Bar, Dungannon, to pay his way through Law School.
Enda is survived by his wife Emma, his parents Sean and Mary, sister Amanda and brothers Paul and Karl.
The family suffered an earlier tragedy when Enda's brother Darragh died of Meningitis.
A Dungannon solicitor described Enda as a 'courageous fellow who never let his head drop'.
"He was a very hard-working and determined trainee solicitor. His death from cancer is a real loss and a tragedy."
Enda's funeral will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11am in St Malachy's Church, Edendork.
