Galbally man killed in road accident

THE funeral took place yesterday, Monday, of Desmond Rafferty.
The father-of-five, from Galbally, was tragically killed in a road traffic accident on Friday.

The deceased was involved in a collision between a lorry and a van on the Termon Road, between Carrickmore and Pomeroy, shortly after 11.30am.

The driver of the van was rushed to hospital but subsequently died.

Beloved husband of Frances, Desmond was the loving father of Ruairi, Paul, Adrian, Niall and Liam.

He is also survived by his brothers Malachy and Kevin, and sisters Kathleen and Bridie.

His funeral took place to Altmore Chapel followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
