JOIN Mickey Harte and Action MS, Northern Ireland's leading multiple sclerosis charity, as they celebrate '30 years of walking' for multiple sclerosis.
Tyrone GAA Manager and Action MS Patron Mickey Harte is inviting you to join him at a very special Walk for MS at Drum Manor Forest Park, Cookstown on Saturday 6 March 2010 at 1pm.

Speaking at the launch Mickey Harte said he would encourage all Ty
rone and Mid Ulster people, whether they had walked for Action MS over the past 30 years or not, to support the Walk for MS. Mr Harte said: “This will be a good, healthy afternoon of walking and I would say to people – join us, sign up to ‘Walk for MS’ and set yourself a challenge to help those living with multiple sclerosis in Northern Ireland.”

Action MS Chief Executive, Ann Walker said: “The Walk for MS has enjoyed the support of the whole community. In the past thirty years thousands of children and adults have taken steps to help people with multiple sclerosis. It’s an amazing record of commitment and support from one generation to another.”

To celebrate these special “Walk for MS” events Action MS is inviting you to walk down memory lane with the children from yesteryear, their children and grandchildren to once again take steps in support of a worthy cause.

One family who illustrate this are the Moran family from Moneymore. Mrs Moran, together with her family and friends, has raised thousands of pounds for Action MS through Walk for MS events over the years. Three generations of the Moran family will join Mickey Harte at Drum Manor Forest Park on Saturday 6 March. Mrs Moran and her family demonstrate what commitment and loyalty can do for people in the community who are being supported by Action MS.

In 1980 the “Walk for MS” events raised £20,000 and this year the estimated total raised is £250,000.

“In the present financial climate this is a powerful result,” said Ann Walker.
