Police detectives 'fear murder accused would flee south if bailed'

DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Dungannon father-of-four, Eamonn Hughes, fear one of the men accused of his killing would use "contacts" in the south of Ireland to flee the jurisdiction, a court has heard.
Objecting to a bail application by Kevin Michael Toye, 23, from Windmill Drive in the town, Detective Constable Sharon Warnock told the local Magistrates Court police also have concerns that, if released, Toye would interfere with witnesses in the case.
Toye and two others, Liam Patrick Murray, 23, from Windmill Court, and Martin Raymond Murray, 22, from Windmill Drive, both in Dungannon, face charges of murder and hijacking as a result of an attack on Mr Hughes as he made his way home from a family birthday party in September last year.
