ALL-COUNTY DIVISION TWO REVIEW
Gortin 2-11 Derrylaughan 1-10
Gortin have had an indifferent start to their league campaign but they will be hoping that this result against Derrylaughan will help to change their season around as this was their first victory on hom
e soil.
Ciaran Gervin was in fine form for the visitors and when he blasted in a cracking 17th minute goal the Kevin Barrys led by three.
Gervin's county minor team-mates Diarmuid McNulty and Ruairi Keenan both responded with points for the St.Patricks and a last gasp Peter Clarke major left it all-square at the break.
Brendan Quinn, Fergal McAliskey and Gerard McAliskey helped out the visitors three in front in as many minutes on the restart.
But a McNulty goal turned the game in favour of the hosts and, as Derrylaughan managed only another point, Gortin finished strongly with efforts from McNulty and Clarke for a welcome victory.

Moy 0-14 Stewartstown 1-10
A post-mortem on events at Moy might well be held by Stewartstown in a bid to uncover the cause of their loss on Friday night after going down in heart breaking circumstances. They led for over an hour but a premature tactic of defending a seven point lead for the entire second half certaintly contributed to their defeat.
For Moy, a lot of the credit for their victory will go to the combined efforts of Sean and Colm Cavanagh but the secret of this success lies in the depth of quality within their squad as corner back Mark Jordan popped up to score a winner on 61 minutes.
An efficient visiting attack had Stewartstown four up after ten and seven to the good at the break but the introduction of Sean Cavanagh midway through the first half reaped reward in the second half. Scorer of three, Cavanagh eventually went off injured but only after getting his side within striking distance, defender Jordan with that late attack.

Edendork 1-5 Urney 1-8
Edendork remain firmly rooted to the foot of the intermediate league table after this three point reversal at home to an Urney side that move into the top half following their third win of the campaign.
The writing was on the wall for the St.Malachys at halftime as they trailed 0-4 to 0-2, despite having the wind at their backs.
David O'Donnell and Johnny Lafferty were on target for their teams and the St.Columbas will feel that they should have been further in front as they missed a hatful of chances.
John McGuckin and O'Donnell helped draw Edendork level on the resumption but the Laffertys, Stephen and Johnny, responded for the visitors before the latter scored a crucial 52nd minute penalty after he was fouled himself.
Moments later a mistake involving keeper Peter O'Connell allowed Peter Mallon to find the net but a late PJ Duffy point ensured the visitors took the spoils

Eskra 0-9 Dungannon 0-4
Dungannon failed to raise an umpire's flag during the entire first half, so it was little wonder that they slipped to another dismal defeat as they dropped to next to bottom in the table as their opponents Eskra leapfrogged them with this result.
The Emmetts had a strong wind in their favour in the first half and they made it count with efforts from Cormac Arkinson, Peter Hughes, Joe McCarroll and Shane McNeilis saw them lead by seven at the short whistle; but it could have been a lot more as they kicked a number of wides on their way to a tally of twenty.
Garrett Mulholland eventually opened the Clarkes' account four minutes into the second half but they had to wait until the final quarter to add to it through Conor McGinn, Dominic Hand and Noel Burns on another afternoon that they will want to forget in a hurry.

Pomeroy 1-12 Rock 2-9
Pomeroy were second best throughout this game but stunned Rock players and supporters by scoring the last five points of the game, four of which came in injury time, to snatch a draw.
Goals at the beginning and end of the first half for Ciaran Gourley and Karl Kolbohm earned the visitors a cosy 2-6 to 0-6 lead at the half way stage.
Three early scores after the break from Justin McCaffrey halved the Rock advantage but a determined effort from the All-Ireland finalists saw them get back to five ahead with seven to go, despite losing Martin McCreesh to a second card from Aghaloo whistler Jerome McElroy.
Ollie McCreesh pointed for The Plunketts on 55 before Jarlath Quinn was hauled down in the square. Stevie McKenna converted the spot kick to leave the minimum between the sides, with Chris Colhoun levelling with the second last kick of the game on 64 minutes.

Killeeshil 1-9 Trillick 2-13
Injuries had hampered Killeeshil before the game but the dismissal of John McMullan 10 minutes into the second half took away whatever competitive edge they had, two yellow cards from Cookstown referee Paul Martin helping a stronger and well-organised Trillick maintain their unbeaten record and their second place in the Division Two table.
The home side started well and held a slender lead early on but seven points on the spin during the 14th and 26th minutes eased Trillick to a 0-8 to 0-4 halftime lead.
Killeeshil halved that advantage at the beginning of the second period but regular scores before and after the sending off from Trillick kept them in the ascendency with goals from Mattie and Sean Donnelly assuring victory.
The St Marys went down but only after a fight. Packie McMullan scored a goal, Shane Mallon three points to reduce the losing margin to six.

Moortown 0-12 Tattyreagh 1-6
An impressive start for Moortown set them on a winning way when they hosted Tattyreagh although a red card decision from Brackaville referee Cathal O'Hagan that saw Paul Harley lined for striking helped as well.
A couple of points from Michael Hagan helped his side to a 0-4 to nil lead after 11 minutes but despite outscoring their opponents five to one, they only held a slender advantage at the break, a goal and a point from Kevin Gallagher getting the Tatts back in contention.
And, after the team-talk, Tattyreagh dominated the early play, levelling through Sean D'Arcy before two scores from Adrian Harley gave them the lead heading into the final quarter.
Moortown were far from done and after exchanging points hit three points to return to the lead. Chris McCarroll levelled for the visitors with just a few minutes left but three scores in a three minute period that spanned the hour mark secured a hard earned second win for the loughshore side.

Greencastle 0-12 Clann na Gael 1-15
Clann na Gael show no signs of letting up on their relentless pursuit of promotion straight back to senior football as they had half a dozen points to spare over a Greencastle side that are now in trouble after a promising start to their campaign.
There was little between the sides at the end of the opening half hour with the visitors just showing ahead 0-8 to 0-6 thanks to points from the likes of Gareth McDermott, Stephen O'Neill and Brendan Conway, while Shane Coyle notched all bar one of the hosts' first half tally.
Coyle and Martin Conway exchanged points in the third quarter with Noel McDermott and O'Neill before the crucial moment of the contest arrived when Shane McCullagh missed a goal opportunity for the home side that would have left the game level but instead the visitors came straight down the field for Ryan McGill to poke home the decisive score
