DUNGANNON'S Ali Birch could be in line for a dramatic call up to the Ulster side to face the all-star Ospreys on Friday night.
Birch, who excelled when the Ulster Ravens beat Leinster's second string in Dublin on Sunday, could be in line to fill in for injured open side flankers David Pollock and Willie Faloon.
In the recent win against Munster, Faloon was replaced by Birch's Dungannon teammate Thomas Anderson who normally plays at eight or on the blindside.
Something of a backrow crisis has interrupted Ulster's build up to the Magner's League clash with the Welsh region and will see Faloon and Pollock join Tamaiti Horua, Robbie Diack and Matt McCullough on the sidelines.
Ulster's last game against Ospreys saw the Irishmen beat the vaunted Swansea based outfit by 20-16 in September.
