Donaghmore 1-6 Errigal Ciaran 2-15
Donaghmore's dreadful start to the new season continued at Fr Devlin Park on Thursday evening when perennial title contenders Errigal Ciaran demonstrated that they will again be a force for silverware this season.
The home side began well with early scores from Kelvin Hughes and Daniel Grimes; but a run of six points on the spin from the visitors, including a brace each for Adrian O'Donnell and Barry Canavan left them in early control.
Substitute Darren Cush then punched home a goal six minutes from the break to leave the hosts only a point in arrears at the short whistle.
A Niall McCaul free in the twenty third minute was all Donaghmore could muster in the second half and, by the time that arrived, the issue was already well beyond any doubt.
O'Donnell took his haul to seven with Ronan McRory and Damian McDermott both plundering goals and Donaghmore's miserable evening was complete when Cush was sent off for a second yellow card offence by Newtownstewart whistler, Stephen McNamee
Ardboe 0-11 Loughmacrory 1-7
For the third time in four games, Ardboe recovered from a halftime deficit to claim victory and in so doing they picked up their fourth win in a row.
Martin McKeown and centre half back Gavin Teague were among the points for the Rossas in the opening period but three Ronan Ward frees kept Loughmacrory in contention before they struck for a goal in the final minute of the half.
A long range Emmett Donaghy free deceived John McConville and keeper Gary Mallaghan and finished in the net.
That left the visitors 1-3 to 0-4 in front and they doubled their lead within five minutes of the restart with another Ward brace.
Ardboe looked to be in trouble but they didn't panic and four points in a row - from Frank McGuigan 2, Ciaran Quinn and Kyle Coney - saw them draw level before Ciaran Campbell and McGuigan made sure of the win.
Clonoe 2-16 Killyclogher 0-8
Promoted Clonoe continue to put opponents to the sword in ruthless fashion with Killyclogher the latest side to feel the brunt of a free-flowing O'Rahillys outfit.
A flowing six man move that was begun in defence by Aidan Brady and Damian Burke resulted in a PJ Lavery goal with only five minutes gone on the clock.
Killyclogher though weathered the early storm and actually led with Leo Meenan and the O'Kane brothers Sean and Peter on target but a 1-5 scoring burst in the final ten minutes of the opening period effectively ended the contest.
Lavery bagged his second major with Stephen McNulty and Patrick Doris supplying points.
The visitors had a couple of scores in the early moments of the second half but, by the time they registered again through Damian Meenan, the hosts had weighed in with eight consecutive points with Colm Donnelly, Doris, McNulty and substitute Paul O'Neill all on target.
Dromore 2-10 Eglish 0-5
Eglish are still looking for their first points after going down away to Dromore on Thursday night in a game were they really put it up to the county champions in the opening half hour.
The St.Patricks began in determined fashion and by the end of the opening quarter they had carved out a four point lead with Brendan Donnelly 2, Dermot Donaghy and Martin McCann their marksmen.
Unfortunately for the visitors they couldn't maintain that impressive start and, despite leading 0-5 to 0-3 at the break, they failed to score again.
That's not to say that they didn't have their chances though with Emmett McKenna spurning a good goal opportunity in the opening moments of the second half.
It's all about taking your chances at this level, though, and when Colm McCullagh bagged a fifth minute Dromore goal they never looked back.
County duo McCullagh and Ryan McMenamin ended with three points each with Emmett O'Neill coming off the bench to hit 1-2.

Coalisland 0-15 Kildress 1-14
Kildress haven't had the best of starts to their campaign but they showed at Coalisland on Thursday night that they are more than capable of matching any side on their day as they recorded their first victory - at the fourth time of asking.
Paddy McNeice and Peter Donnelly exchanged early points with Frank McGurk and Des Treacy and it took a superb save from Fianna keeper Patrick Donnelly to deny Paul O'Neill a 15th minute goal.
There was little between the sides throughout the first half before Treacy rose highest to flick a Martin Loughran ball to the net. Treacy was in superb form for the Wolfe Tones but efforts from Paddy Early, Gerard Toner, Donnelly and McNeice left only the minimum between them with four minutes left to play.
A great run from corner back Niall Quinn then saw him hoist over the insurance score as Coalisland slipped to their second reversal in a row.
Cookstown 0-9 Galbally 0-11
It was a case of third time lucky for Galbally as they picked up their first points of the season on the road when they got the better of Cookstown in a contest that was played on Wednesday evening.
It was a good all round performance from the Pearses and they had to do it the hard way after referee Sean McCartan of Loughmacrory sent their centre half back Martin Brannigan off in the early moments of the second half for a second yellow card offence.
Paul Rafferty was the star of the show for the visitors in the scoring stakes, the full forward contributing all but two of their tally in a superb display of marksmanship.
Galbally led 0-6 to 0-2 at halftime but Cookstown hit back with a Martin Hughes brace and one from half back Mark O'Connor.
A well-taken Blaine Nugent point kept Galbally ahead but Hughes and Raymond Mulgrew drew Cookstown level before Rafferty won it with two superb late scores.
Aghyaran 0-9 Omagh 0-13
Omagh's impressive start continued at Aghyaran on Friday night when they picked up their third win at the expense of the hosts who are still waiting to break their points duck.
The St.Davogs controlled the early stages with points from Anthony Devine, Aidan Connolly and Caolan Dolan but they failed to score in the second quarter as Omagh led 0-7 to 0-5 at the break, Jason McAnula and Paddy McMahon hitting five points between them.
On the restart McAnula, Leo McCullagh and McMahon stretched the St.Endas advantage but then Aghyaran wasted a great chance to get back into contention when Devine missed his second penalty in two games, Omagh keeper Des McGuinness saving comfortably.
The home side kept battling, though, and they enjoyed a good spell that yielded points from Shane Sweeney and Devine but Omagh made the game safe with late efforts from McAnula and substitute Shane O'Neill
