Ladies show no mercy

The Dungannon ladies entertained Gilnahirk last Thursday and showed them no mercy with a 101 – 36 win. A Sloan, E Lecky, B Shackels and M Fearon had a 41–7 win. S McKenna, B Jones, V Wilson and P Mackle won 35–7. B Parker, E Mullen, M McGrath and A McKiver won 23–8 and with a 22–9 was the rink of D Brodinson, B McGleenan, V McIvor and I Eldon.
Later that evening the Mid-Ulster team welcomed Armagh side Richhill in a League match and it proved to be a successful evening for the hosts. F McKeever, C Brown, I Scott and C A Scott overpowering their opponents 35–5. J Farrell, S Gilkinson, A Don
nelly and W Wilkinson were 22–14 winners, while J Atkinson, C Lyden, G Kane and M McKenna had a similar margin winning 20–12.
The Seniors played out an 80-all draw at home with Glengormley on Saturday. This Saturday they make the short trip to Markethill.
After last week's rest the Borders team have a busy week with a trip to Ballybay on Wednesday and entertain Enniskillen in the Cup on Saturday. The Ladies have no game this week.
Winner of this week's bonus ball was P Donnelly with number 2.
In the Borders Counties League all three home teams won.
Omagh made the trip to play Clogher Valley. Home rink K Givens, W Coulter, B Kirkpatrick and E Clarke started the ball rolling with a 24-8 win against L Wilson, O Pearson, B McGahan and C Henderson. M Small, R McAnenlly, H Nelson and M Livingstone had 4 shots to spare over S McFarland, B Managh, D Sterritt and F Shortt and also winning by 4, 16 12 , was F Malone, P McElroy, M Malone and B Dunlop against E Prunty, N Cummingham, S Coleman and J Craig. Saving Omagh from a whitewash of the points was the rink of E McElmurray, A Gilmore, S McElholm and S Elliott with a 13-11 win over A Hurst, B Keys, H Nelson and J Burrell. Final Score: Clogher Valley 78 Omagh 46.
Letterkenny entertained Ballybay and had 20 shots to spare, 65-45, and Sion Mills made home advantage count with a 55-48 win over Enniskillen.
Fixtures: league on Wednesday night - Ballybay v Dungannon, Enniskillen v Omagh, Letterkenny v Sion Mills. On Saturday, it is cup first leg matches: Letterkenny v Omagh, Dungannon v Enniskille, Clogher Valley v Sion Mills. Clubs are asked to return result cards to Competitions Secretary as soon as possible.
