St.Ciarans, Ballygawley's hopes of U14 Vocational schools McDevitt Cup glory ended at the semi final stage at Edendork on Friday morning when they lost out to Armagh champions St.Pauls, Lurgan in a cracking encounter writes Kevin Kelly.
With the wind at their backs St.Pauls dominated the opening half and were full value for their 2-8 to 0-3 advantage at the break.
The second half proved a totally different story as the Tyrone champions produced a storming comeback to level the argument but a James McDaid goal for St.Pauls decided the outcome as both sides failed to score in the final ten minutes.
Mark Kavanagh opened the scoring for St.Ciarans but that was to be the only time that they would have their noses in front and by the sixth minute they were already in trouble after Peter Mullholland and Stephen Toland both found the net within sixty seconds of each other.
