Like businesses in the general community at large, local sports clubs are counting the cost of the big freeze and it's growing by the day, with more and more fixtures being postponed to add to their woes.
Dungannon Rugby Club lost their plum annual Boxing Day fixture and last week had their All-Ireland League trip to Munster called off and the loss of income at the club was a subject addressed by Marketing and Finance Chairman Billy Boles.
"We have lost a few thousand pounds in income since the start of this bad weather.
"Our traditional Kyle Cup match on Boxing Day is usually a good money spinner and then we lost out on the Harlequins fixture come the 28th.
"In these days of recession we don't want to be losing further ground and I sincerely hope that the we have a good day when UCC come to Stevenson Park on January 23."

And they are offering free admission to U16s for that tie.
"We badly need to get things moving again and I'd have to admit that we would be extremely worried had it not been for a resolution of Derry City dispute. That money saved the day for us" said chairman Jarlath Faloon, who expects .
GAA has suffered as well, with the McKenna Cup tie against Donegal delayed by a fortnight, but the cost to them won't be as noticeable, financially anyway, since they don't have wages to pay.
