THE DUNGANNON branch of Diabetes UK was a winner at the recent Diabetes UK Voluntary Group Awards held in the Glenavon House Hotel Cookstown.

The branch known as the Dungannon Voluntary Group received the award during the Inspire Awards part of Diabetes UK Northern Ireland’s annual Volunteer Conference which celebrates the invaluable road that volunteers play across the organisation.

The Dungannon Voluntary Group is one of the longest standing groups in Northern Ireland and has undertaken sterling work to support local people living with diabetes through regular support meetings.

The groups is extremely active in the east Tyrone area running numerous events to raise funds for the charity and recently ran a very successful Walk in the Park event in Drum Manor Park in Cookstown.

The groups helps to support people of all ages and provides funding for local families whose children wish to attend Diabetes UK Care Support events.
