Baby sling experts to speak at local meeting

MUMS and Dads who are interested in trying out a baby sling, but unsure of the choices available which might suit them and their baby best, are invited to attend a meeting in Dungannon on August 24.

Organised by the newly formed local group, Bumps2Babies, along with the Sling Library NI, the event promises to offer plenty of useful, common sense information on choosing the sling to suit your lifestyle.

Claire Hackett, a mum of one, is behind the setting up of Bumps2Babies and she is encouraging as many mums and dads as possible to come along.

“The Sling Library NI organises meetings in Lisburn every other Thursday, and I thought it would be a great idea to ask them to come along to our group in Dungannon, and demonstrate the different types of baby carriers avaiable”, she explained.

“You can hire the slings out to see if they suit you or not, which is great because attachment parenting is something which is really being promoted nowadays.

“I have popped my wee boy James into a sling and headed off to do shopping, rather than try to negotiate a pram around the aisles. James loves being held so it gives me a chance to keep him close and be able to do the other things I need to do.”

The BabySling NI meeting will take place at Ballysaggart Business Park in Dungannon on Friday, August 24, at midday.

You can find out more details about the event by logging on to the Bumps2Babies Facebook page or email Claire Hackett at burgundyshoes@hotmail.com
