Disorder charges

A YOUTH has appeared in court charged with two attempted assaults on police.

The boy, who cannot be named, is further accused of resisting police, two counts of criminal damage and threats to damage property. All the charges relate to an alleged incident on September 1.

He is also accused of breaching his bail terms on September 14.

His co-accused, Craig George Ian Watterson, 20, from Clonlee Drive in Belfast, stands charged with damaging a fence and assaulting a police officer on September 1.

District Judge John Meehan adjourned both cases for contest on November 5.

Mr Watterson is further alleged to have used disorderly behaviour and resisted police at Stewart Avenue in Cookstown on September 7.

He will contest these charges on October 31 at East Tyrone Magistrate’s Court.
