DUNGANNON based meat processing company, Linden Foods, has won a contract to supply a number of new product lines to grocery store Lidl.

The products, available under the supermarket’s Deluxe range, are available in the supermarket chain’s 36 stores.

Traditionally the Hereford range of products have only been available in Northern Ireland through smaller outlets and specialty butchers with Aberdeen Angus products dominating the market.

Catherine Hunter, Retail Account Manager with Linden Foods, said: “As a locally owned company we are delighted to have secured this new business.

“Linden Foods has been focused on innovation within our category over the past few years and providing our customers with a range of exciting new seasonal products that are well ahead of current trends. “This contract is the result of our work in this area and bolsters our position as market leader within the meat processing industry.”

Caitriona McCarry from Lidl Northern Ireland said: “We are delighted to be giving our customers in Northern Ireland even greater choice with the introduction of these new Hereford meats. Linden Foods has been supplying Lidl with quality products for some time now and the addition of these new lines is testament to the quality and range of the products we know they provide.”

This latest announcement is the most recent contract win for Linden Foods on a national scale and follows on from a £10 million investment by the company in a new state-of-the-art retail packing and product development facility at Granville.

Linden’s customers include leading high street retailers and companies servicing the catering trade throughout the UK and Ireland.
