New to You sale church fundraiser

As the refurbishment of St Mary’s Chapel, Dunamore enters the finishing straight, the fundraising for the project continues.

As part of this, this weekend sees the Parish run a first-ever New To You sale.

The concept is simple: you donate items and goods you no longer need to the sale, Kildress Parish sells them - and Dunamore Chapel benefits.

“The renovation of St Mary’s is the biggest project in cash terms that Kildress Parish has ever undertaken” Parish Priest Fr Paddy Hughes explained, “although we do need to remember that building the Chapel in the first place, shortly after the Famine, was a far bigger challenge for the people of Kildress.

“We’re well on the way to paying for this latest work and our New To You sale is another important part of our fundraising” Fr Hughes added.

The sale is over Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon until 6pm at Braeside Farm, just off the main Cookstown-Omagh road in the heart of Kildress.

Anything and everything - clothes; furniture; jewellery; equipment; toys; books; plants etc. – will be accepted. Anyone donating items should deliver them to Braeside Farm on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday 7-9pm, while arrangements can be made to collect larger items from your home by contacting Orla on 07767 413601.

The New To You sale ticks a lot of boxes. It will allow you to pass on items you no longer need or use whilst equally presenting you and others with bargain buys. To cap it all, every penny goes to the renovation fund for St Mary’s Chapel.

There will be entertainment for the children at the sale, so go along and make this a day for all the family and help raise much needed funds for the renovation project.
