Tourism Businesses Get Creative in Tyrone

MAYOR of Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council Cllr Phelim Gildernew welcomed 25 local tourism business representatives to Todds Leap and invited them as part of a Creative Marketing Workshop, to think creatively about marketing their business and the region into 2013 and beyond.

He commented that as we move into 2013 we should “take time to reflect, consider and look for ideas that will grab the customer’s attention.” The Mayor also noted that as small businesses succeed this in turn reaps benefits that spill into the local economy and helps the Council to fulfil its vision of making the Borough a place to live, work and invest in now and in the future.

The Creative Marketing workshop was part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the European Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland and gave participants an opportunity to preview the Northern Ireland Tourist Boards plans for 2013 and beyond, the development of the food tourism sector and look at ideas such as idea generation, networking and creative marketing.
