Welcome for Lough Fea Road resurfacing
COOKSTOWN SDLP Councillor James McGarvey has welcomed the completion of resurfacing work along the Lough Fea Road.
Resurfacing of the road was undertaken following the installation of a new water main last year.
“The completion of the resurfacing work along Lough Fea Road is welcome news for local residents and road users,” said Councillor McGarvey.
“I raised my concerns about the condition of the Lough Fea Road with senior Roads Service staff last year.
“They confirmed to me then that, following the installation of the new water main, work on the resurfacing of the road would begin.
“It has taken longer than initially expected, but the resurfacing of the Lough Fea Road has now been completed.
The SDLP representative said the completion of work will be welcomed by all local residents.
“The improvement in the condition of the road, along with the more secure water supply, is a definite boost for the local community,” he said.
“Our rural roads are a vital resource for rural communities and the rural economy.
“The SDLP will continue to call for a properly funded and co-ordinated approach to upgrading our entire rural roads network.”
