British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has pledged to work with new Taoiseach Brian Cowen to drive forward yet more improvements to life in Northern Ireland.
The pair had private talks in Belfast before jointly attending a major investment conference designed to encourage US investment in the North.

Mr Cowen said it was a great pleasure for him to spend his first day in office in Northern Ireland where he had worked in his previous posts to help drive the peace process forward.
