£250,000 cigarette theft case moves toward trial

A CASE involving the alleged theft of an estimated £250,000 worth of cigarettes by an employee is to move to crown court for trial.

Twenty-six year old Daniel Campbell from Bellavale Terrace, Coalisland is accused of committing the offence between April 2009 and November 2011.

At East Tyrone Magistrates Court District Judge John Meehan adjourned the case until August 8 for a preliminary enquiry, at which a trial date will be fixed. Campbell remains on continuing bail.
