GALBALLY’S favourite fiddle player will launch his second album with a gig in The Black Box in Belfast on July 23.

Dónall Donnelly is well known in traditional circles and has toured worldwide supporting bands like Capercaille and the Michael McGoldrick band.

His first album ‘Driven’ was a great success a few years ago. In this, his second album, he is accompanied by his new group, Tremolo. It is a lovely blend of traditional music with a contemporary ‘twist’.

Dónall and his band will be playing The Black Box, Hill Street, Cathedral Quarter, Belfast on Monday 23rd July when he will launch his new CD. Also playing will be the Noriana Kennedy Band. Doors open 8.00pm.

Come along and enjoy a great night’s music. There will be something for everyone!

Dónall has played at festivals from Womad, Cambridge Folk Festival to L’Orient and has performed as a guest musician at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow and appeared on many television and radio programmes.

One of the highlights of his career was playing in the ‘Concertgebouw’, in Amsterdam - Holland’s world-famous National Concert Hall with the legendary Dutch musician and composer Carel Krayenhof. In August he is off on a tour of Italy.
