Euro Fever and Family Fun in Dungannon this Saturday!!

THE countdown is on to Dungannon’s fantastic Football Fest which kicks off in Market Square on Saturday 23rd June at 12noon!

Soccer fans will line out to tackle an inflatable penalty shootout, face-painting, balloon modelling and the chance to make your own Euro 2012 souvenirs, while soccer mums and dads can indulge in some retail therapy in Dungannon’s array of independently owned and multi-national stores that line the town’s colourful streets.

Mayor Cllr Phelim Gildernew is looking forward to seeing Euro fever hit the town. He says:

“Dungannon will show that the town truly is ‘champion’ when it comes to community events and the Football Fest is sure to attract an eager bunch of soccer fanatics to Market Square this Saturday. If football isn’t your game, do still come along and appreciate the atmosphere and family fun on offer for all to enjoy!”

Local soccer pundit Joe McAree from Dungannon United Youth will be in attendance with the view to spotting some stars of the future. He says:

“I’m delighted to say I will be judging a kick up competition for U8’s, U12s and U16’s in Market Square as part of Football Fest. We have some fantastic prizes on offer so make sure your sons and daughters come along and show us what they’re made of! I have no doubt we will witness some amazing talent from local children.”

With music from DJ Brian Nicholl and a special appearance of the Olympic Torch which will be on view courtesy of torchbearer Brian MacAuley who carried it through Newry, be sure to dribble your way to Dungannon this Saturday 23rd June from 12noon – 4pm. It would be an own goal to miss out!
