Tyrone Rose to avail of new car

A Dungannon girl, Catherine Sherry, has been overwhelmed by the support of the local community since being selected to represent her county at the prestigious International Rose of Tralee Festival in August.

The support for the Tyrone Rose was underpinned by the Donnelly family in Dungannon who have kindly looked after all Catherine’s transport needs over the next few months.

Donnelly Bros have given Catherine, 19, access to a beautiful Honda car from their showroom allowing for her to arrive in style at her engagements over the coming months.

Patrick Hughes of Donnelly Bros said: “We are delighted to help Catherine in her quest for the Rose of Tralee title and be able to assist her in getting to all the important functions she has over the coming months.”

Speaking as she received the keys to the car, Catherine said: “I am blown away by the generosity of the local community and none more so that Donnelly Bros, and I am delighted to be able to drive around in style in my lovely new Honda.”

A 10 day tour lies ahead for Catherine in August before she embarks on the magical 5 day experience in Tralee culminating in her TV appearance in the Dome with RTE’s own Daithi Ó Sé broadcasting live on RTE 1 on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st August.

Catherine is the first Tyrone Rose to make it through to the Dome in the current format of the festival, albeit many accomplished Tyrone ladies have represented various other centres such as Liverpool, Manchester and Ulster with the late Michaela Harte representing her province in 2004.
