One of the busiest roads in the Dungannon District is in line for a major roads improvement scheme.
Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced that £150,000 will be spent on upgrading the Dungannon Road in Coalisland.
Improvements, which are expected to get underway this week, include resurfacing of a stretch of the road between its junction with Ballynakilly Road to the junction with Coalisland Industrial Estate and work will also include the resurfacing of both junctions.
The scheme is expected to be completed on Saturday 28 February.
Danny Kennedy said: “Some of the benefits for drivers will include an improved road running surface with a reduction in noise.”
To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors, traffic management will be in place. Most of the work will only require lane closures, however, for the final stages of the scheme an unavoidable closure of the road will be required between 8am and 8pm from Tuesday 24 February to Thursday 26 February.
Local access will be maintained and well signposted diversions via Newmills and Dernagh Roundabout (Arty’s Crossroads ) will be in place.
