It was a case of ‘Supermarket Sweep’ when two teams from Springisland in Coalisland completed the Belfast Marathon in a time of four hours and 47 minutes in aid of three worthy local charities.

The runners who did their colleagues proud were Lillian Devlin, Shauna Coary, Colin Gervin, Ciara Devlin, Elaine Whitehouse, Shannan Woods, Lauren Early, Andrew McCann, Maria O’Neill and Tiarnan Duffy. They were joined by cheerleaders Martina Casey, Grainne O’Neill, Agata and Sheena Whitehouse, who travelled to Belfast to lend their support to the teams.

The charities which will benefit from the money raised by the marathon teams are Charis Cancer Centre in Cookstown, Diabetes UK and Chest, Heart and Stroke. Springisland Supermarket has praised the hard work and dedication of those who trained for the event, as well as anyone who helped and donated to the fundraising challenge.
