McDade’s Centra, Ballygawley has been awarded Bronze at Musgrave NI’s annual awards event on Friday night at the Culloden Estate and Spa, Cultra.

Northern Ireland boxing legend and manager of IBF and WBA Super-Bantamweight Champion of the World Carl Frampton, Barry McGuigan, was on hand to congratulate John McDade, whose store picked up Bronze in the Centra Foodmarket category sponsored by Irwin’s Bakery.

Musgrave NI organises the Gala Ball event each year for its 230 independent retailers in Northern Ireland across the SuperValu, Centra and Mace brands and finalists were selected following several rounds of performance and standards audits.

The evening, hosted by TV personality Claire McCollum, also saw Hegarty’s Fintona named SuperValu ‘Store of the Year’, Watson’s Portaferry named Centra ‘Store of the Year’, Collingwood’s Aghalee named Mace ‘Store of the Year’ and Bell’s SuperValu Crossgar named Newcomer of the Year. SuperValu Limavady won Fundraising Store of the Year while McCool’s SuperValu Ballymoney was the first store in NI to achieve the Investor’s in People Gold Standard Award.
