Landfill Environmental Monitoring

COOKSTOWN District Council has agreed to pay a contractor almost £90,000 over the next three years for Landfill Environmental Monitoring.

The decision was agreed at December’s Policy, Resources and Services Committee meeting.

The contract for the service went out for tender in November, and a total of five contractors replied.

Tenders ranged from £32,611.58 to £25,927.

On the proposal of Councillor Wilson, seconded by Councillor Quinn it was agreed to appoint McQuillan Envirocare Ltd at a cost of £25,927 plus VAT per annum for a three year period commencing in January 2013, with an option for a further one year period.

The Committee also agreed that due to the timescale constraints that the Director of Operational Services proceed immediately.
