One of Mid-Ulster’s oldest established Plumbers Merchants, Clady Plumbing Supplies, has been acquired by Northern Ireland's largest plumbing and heating supplier, Bassetts.

Bassetts has confirmed that it will continue to invest in the branch and will retain all Clady Plumbing Supplies staff at its Portglenone base.

The acquisition reaffirms Bassetts’ steady growth over the past 35 years and its commitment to offering a full range of bathroom, plumbing and heating products and superior service to customers.

The company recently announced it has invested £500,000 in its Northern Ireland branches over the past 18 months which includes the recent opening of a new ‘showroom only’ branch in Boucher Crescent.

Bassetts’ Managing Director, Alan Wright, commented, “The acquisition of Clady Plumbing Supplies strengthens Bassetts overall offering across Northern Ireland but particularly in the mid-Ulster area.

“Clady Plumbing Supplies has been providing excellent service to its customers for nearly 50 years and has a great history. We look forward to working with the established team while investing in the products and services for our Mid-Ulster trade customers and taking the company forward to the next level.

“On behalf of the entire Bassetts and Clady Plumbing team, I would like to extend my thanks and commend the Mackle family on the company’s heritage and track record which made it such a good fit for branch network expansion. We wish them the very best in their next phase. The family can be assured that they are leaving their loyal staff and customers in the hands of a company that cares and will continue to invest in the award-winning team in Clady.”

Former Director of Clady Plumbing Supplies, John Mackle, said, “I am very proud of the company and reputation we have built up over the years and am delighted that leading plumbing and heating supplier, Bassetts, has taken over the business and will continue to build on our achievements to date.”

Bassetts has grown from five branches ten years ago to 15 following this recent acquisition and the company shows no sign of slowing down.

Catering for every need, ranging from boilers and radiators through to bathrooms, showers, tiles and everything in between, this leading Northern Ireland company employs over 100 people with branches in Ballymena, Bangor, Belfast, Coleraine, Downpatrick, Dungannon, Lisburn, Greencastle, L’Derry, Mallusk, Newry, Portadown and Omagh.

A strong focus on superior design, innovation and cutting-edge technology is at the forefront of Bassetts offerings. Its commitment to meeting the changing expectations and needs of its customers has also been key to the company’s growth over the past 35 years.
