Councillor Malachy Quinn has expressed his disappointment at the decision by the SELB not to allow children from Drummurrer Lane to use to the school bus to get to Annaghmore Primary School.
The SDLP representative said he had been approached by parents who were “angry” that their children were no longer entitled to use the service as they were deemed “to live too close to school”.
He continued: “I asked SELB to look at a number of options including a bus share with Gaelscoil Uí Néill who use the same bus route as those going to Annaghmore School.
“Sadly the SELB have said that due to falling pupil numbers in they are unable to put the bus back on
and will be reducing the size of the bus they currently use Ghaelscoil Uí Néill which would make a
bus share impossible.”
Cllr Quinn said he would work to find a resolution to the issue.
