The Servite Priory in Benburb has provided the setting for a very successful coffee morning in aid of the charity, Mary’s Meals.

A large crowd turned out to support the event, which was organised by the Priory’s Mothers’ Prayer Group, and a raffle took place as the coffee morning came to an end.

The Mothers’ Prayer Group currently sponsors the Mpira Primary School in Southern Malawi, and all proceeds from the coffee morning will go to support the facility and ensure the good work of Mary’s Meals continues.

The charity was set up in 2002 and has a number of local branches, including one in the Coalisland area.

Children are provided with healthy, nutritional meals when they attend the schools funded by the organisation.

You can find out more about the work of Mary’s Meals, and about how to become involved in the charity’s Backpack Project, by logging on to their website at www.marysmeals.org
