Two dogs taken into custody by the dog warden after a woman was attacked and bitten in the Coagh Road area of Cookstown, have now been destroyed.

No owners came forward for the two Staffordshire Bull Terriers, who were found roaming though town on March 10. They had collars on, but were not chipped.

Police said at the time the woman suffered puncture wounds to her hand and arm.

It is understood the animals were kept at Drumbonoway Kennels outside Stewartstown for five days before the council ordered their destruction.
