Magherafelt judge hangs up his wig after 42-years service

Tributes were paid to District Judge Alan White at Magherafelt Magistrates Court who is retiring.

Mr White came to Magherafelt Court three years ago.

Mr Patrick McGuckin thanked him on behalf of South Derry Solicitors’ Association for his assistance over the past and said they were sorry to see him go.

Mr McGuckin wished him a long and happy retirement.

Mr White said he had been “very touched by the compliments” paid to him by members of the legal profession.

He felt that after 42 years in law it was time to retire.
