Residents of Cookstown awoke to quite a mess this morning after thousands of students decended on town for a club night on Monday evening.

Glass bottles, empty drinks cans, takeaway wrappers and discarded food covered the new paving on Loy and James Streets.

And a local business owner arrived at work to find their shrubs uprooted and thrown into the street, while rocks around a flower bed were removed and thrown into a nearby resident’s garden.

So angry was one resident with the mess, they sent the Mail a series of pictures.

Mid Ulster Council and the PSNI have been approached for a comment.
