The owner of a Cookstown Bar that had its front windows smashed in an overnight attack wants the woman who did it “to go to jail”.

Chris Eastwood, who runs the Dunleath Bar on Church Heights, told the Mail he will be £900 out of pocket because of the damage.

But said he knows who did it and has passed their details to police.

Describing what he saw on the bar’s CCTV, Chris said a woman and three men “who egged her on”, approached the bar at around 2.30am on Friday morning before she “threw bits of hard plaster” and “planks of wood” through two windows at the front.

“The girl was off her head,” Chris said.

“We are having a toilet refurb done and there was a trailer out the front. She threw bits of hard plaster through the window and damaged the window.

“She [also] put a couple of planks of wood through two panes of glass.”

But the unprovoked attack not only damaged the premises, he said it scared those living nearby.

“I had a phone call this morning,” Chris added. “There’s two families in the flats beside the bar and it scared them as well, they didn’t know if they were breaking into their premises or what was happening.”

It is understood the woman who allegedly damaged the windows, cut her hand in the attack and sought treatment at Craigavon Hospital.

Since the whole thing was captured on CCTV, Chris said all those involved are easily identifiable.

“I want her put in jail,” he added.

“She went at the damage for about three minutes. I know the girl, she’s local. I will be pressing charges as there’s between £600 and £900 worth of damage.”

As well as replacing the glass, Chris said he will also have to have the frame replaced and painted.
