Councillors have called for a crack down on dog fouling in the city and district.

A new dog fouling bin in Brackaville has been welcomed by local Sinn Fein councillor, Joe O’Neill.

Cllr O’Neill has been approached about the issue which has become a “daily problem”.

“I would appeal to dog owners to do the right thing and pick up your dog’s mess and use this facility that the council have provided”, he said.

Meanwhile, new traffic warning signs in Coalisland and Clonoe will help to address safety issues on a number of local roads, including Lower Corr Road, where, Cllr O’Neill claimed drivers were “literally putting their lives at risk”.

“As the oncoming traffic have no warning signs, that cars may be pulling out of Lower Corr and the hidden dip on the road makes it even more dangerous, So it was also quickly agreed that signs go up immediately, and to take a look what else can be done to help when coming out onto that very busy road.”
