Local Sinn Fein representatives say they will continue to campaign for a pedestrian crossing at a busy stretch of road in Clonoe.

The road on the approach to Arty’s Crossroads is now subject to a 40mph restriction, which has been welcomed by Mid Ulster MP Francie Molloy and Councillor Joe O’Neill.

Mr Molloy urged drivers to be aware of the new speed limit and added: “The campaign which was initiated by myself along with our councillors to have a speed limit implemented on this part of the road thankfully has had a successful outcome however we intend to continue to try to get a crossing.”

Cllr O’Neill said he will continue to work with local residents to have speed limits and traffic restrictions in place in other areas in the locality, included at St John’s Kingsisland PS and Aughamullan PS.
