Dungannon drugs mule Michaella McCollum has been offered money to do further interviews, a solicitor has revealed.

“Since her appearance on RTE on Sunday night past we have received a series of requests from a number of media outlets offering Michaella McCollum money to do interviews,” a statement from Kevin Winters solicitors read.

“All of these have either been politely declined or simply not responded to That will remain the position.

Our client and her family reiterate their appreciation of the privacy afforded to them by the media save for one Irish national newspaper and an incident on 3/4/16 which is already subject to pending legal proceedings.

“Any future requests for information about our client and her family should continue to be processed through this office and not directly to them.”

During her interview with RTE, screened last Sunday night, Michaella said that if the cocaine she was trying to take to Europe had reached its intended destination she could have had “a lot of blood on my hands”.

“I could have caused a lot of harm to people,” the Dungannon woman added.
