A Dungannon man has pleaded guilty to driving without insurance or a valid driving licence.
Emiliano Seimedo, 40, of Cherrytree Court, Dungannon admitted the charges of no driving licence, no vehicle test certificate and using a motor vehicle without insurance.
A court heard how police stopped Mr Seimedo on Lurgaboy Lane, Dungannon on March 22 this year. He told officers he couldn’t produce his licence or insurance. Police also noted that the MOT certificate had expired in November 2013. He then admitted to officers he didn’t have a licence or insurance.
A defence solicitor for Mr Seimedo said his client had ‘stupidly’ made the decision to go a pick up a friend.
District Judge John Meehan imposed fines totalling £115, and ordered him to do 100 hours community service. He was also banned from driving for 12 months and until he passes his test.
