After 40 years at the school as both a pupil and a teacher, much loved and respected nursery leader Carmel Early is putting away the chalk, paints and books for the last time.

Carmel, who has taught thousands down through the years, will finally say goodbye to the Coalisland school when it closes its doors for summer.

“Over 1,000 children have passed through Carmel Early’s classroom,” said the school.

“First and foremost every single child was welcomed, loved and was cared for by Carmel - and had a great beginning to their school careers. In five days Carmel puts away the roll book, the paints, the books and the chalk for the final time. Best wishes.

“Everybody. Children, past pupils, parents and families wish you great luck and long health and many years of retired enjoyment, Carmel.

“You’ll always a Primate Dixon girl!”
