And what’s more, Pope Francis seemed to be considering his options when presented with a club jersey by Parish Priest Father Michael Toner.
Fr Toner, who is celebrating 25 years in the priesthood, met the Holy Father at the Vatican during the visit on his ordination anniversary.
Club member, Brian Jordan said: “It’s great coverage for the team and for the sponsor.
“Perhaps the Pope’s blessing of the jersey will help bring luck to the football team... and keep them in division next year.”
