Belfast Central Mission (BCM) Armagh and Dungannon recently celebrated the charity’s 125th Birthday with a coffee and cake party at their new Dungannon headquarters on the Coalisland Road.

BCM has been operating in Dungannon and Armagh for nearly ten years providing Housing Support and Supported Housing for vulnerable young people and has recently expanded the local services it offers.

The new Housing Support for Older People project helps up to 50 older people live independently in their own homes for as long as possible, while Parent Support works first time parents, foreign nationals with young parents who are care leavers and vulnerable parents referred by health care and social workers.

BCM employs 22 people as part of its Armagh and Dungannon services.

2014 marks BCM’s 125th anniversary, after the charity was founded in 1889 as a Christian response to social problems in inner-city Belfast.

BCM’s aim today is to support those who need it most in Northern Ireland with projects in North Down and Ards as well as Belfast, Dungannon and Armagh. BCM works throughout all communities in Northern Ireland by providing support and practical help.
