Mid Ulster DUP MLA Keith Buchanan was joined by his party leader, First Minister Arlene Foster, for the official opening of his new constituency office in Magherafelt.

His new premises on Queen’s Avenue, will be open five days a week between 9.30am and 5pm, with a half hour break for lunch at 1pm.

Speaking at the launch of his new office, Mr Buchanan reiterated his commitment to the people of Mid Ulster.

“I am honoured to welcome my party leader and First Minister Arlene Foster MLA,” he said. “The new office is part of my ongoing commitment to the people of Mid Ulster. I am committed to my party and my constituents and I look forward to the challenges ahead.”

Keen to operate an open door policy for anyone who may need his help, Keith added: “I have members of staff who between them have many years of experience in constituency work and also individual areas of expertise including housing, benefits and funding.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have opened my constituency office in the centre of Mid Ulster (and) I want to particularly thank my team in the office and the local Mid Ulster DUP Association for all their hard work in helping to get the office up and running.

“I cannot thank everyone enough for their support and encouragement both during and since the election.

“Changes introduced by the Assembly’s Independent Financial Review Panel (IFRP) to office lease terms and conditions have meant that it is no longer possible to have two constituency offices and it is regrettable that I can only sustain one office in Mid Ulster.

“Since being elected my focus has been to provide an excellent service to the people of Mid Ulster and to ensure Mid Ulster and its needs are front and centre in the NI Assembly.”

The new office is at 2 Queens Avenue, Magherafelt, BT45 6BU. Keith can be contacted by phone on 028 7930 0296 or 028 7930 0295, or by email at keith.buchanan@mla.niassembly.gov.uk
