A forest fire that took hold in the Mullaghfad area of Fivemiletown has destroyed a large area of trees and led to a police appeal for witnesses.

The blaze, which both fire crews and police attended on Sunday, April 19, was first noticed at around 4pm that day.

Police said that thousands of pounds worth of trees were destroyed.

Speaking about the incident, PC Livingston said: “The Fire Service were also tasked to the scene after the blaze was noticed at 4pm.

“Several thousand pounds worth of trees were reported to have been destroyed.
