Moy man Mickey Hughes is said to be bursting with joy after his daughter Emily was chosen to represent Kentucky in the Rose of Tralee regionals in Portlaois at the end of May.

Emily’s is the daughter of Sheila Doherty from Roxborough Park Moy and her Father Mickey played for both Tyrone and Killyman Gaelic Football clubs when he was based in the area.

The couple moved to Louisville Kentucky in 1981 with Powerscreen.

Emily’s brother Peter and sister Ramona, married to Justin Murray from Moy and nephew Jack also live in Louisville.

Her brother Gary, wife Ayane and nephew Cruz live in San Diego CA and her uncle Martin Doherty, who is also from Moy lives in New Orleans Louisiana with his fiancé Jessie.

Emily said she is looking forward to meeting up with all her family and friends in Moy and Killyman when she travels here for the competition at the end of May.
