Harte set to continue in Tyrone until 2018

Mickey Harte looks set to add another year to his current Tyrone term, which would keep the Errigal Ciarán man in charge of the Red Hand until 2018.

Harte has requested an extension of his two-year term which was agreed in 2015.

And that additional year is expected to be ratified by the county board next month as Tyrone look to improve on this year’s Championship campaign, where they were knocked out by Mayo in the quarter-finals.

Tyrone enjoyed an Ulster final victory over 2012 All-Ireland champions Donegal in this year’s Championship, but Harte’s side, who have won the Sam Maguire three times during his 13-year tenure, came up just short in the quarter-finals, losing out to the All-Ireland finalists by a solitary point.
