Hearty congratulations to the winning camogie team from St John’s PS in Kingsisland, who were crowned Tyrone champions in the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol finals in Omagh yesterday, Thursday.

The Kingsisland girls defeated Eglish, Recarson and drew with Aughamullan to reach the semi final.

The toughest game of the day came against Dungannon, but the girls displayed all their grit to triumph 4 -2.

The girls were to face neighbours Aughamullan in the final, following their superb victory over Carrickmore in the other semi final.

The final was a fantastic spectacle with camogie of the highest standard. Kingsisland took the title with a 5 - 2 victory in the end.

Principal Philip O’Neill said: “A massive thank you must go to all of our coaches both in School and in the girls’ clubs of Derrytresk and Derrylaughan.”

The Kingsisland girls now go forward to represent Tyrone in the Ulster finals to be held in Newry.
